What a Cute Kitty!
Have you ever seen such a cute kitten in your life? I found this picture in our basement in an envelope with other cool and interesting pictures of Don, Jessica and Nancy with their mom and grandmother.
Even though Hideous is my cat too, I still can't get over how cuddly he is! It's a far cry from Gabriel the Grump. Every morning, I have to take at least 5 minutes to cuddle with him before I begin my morning routine. If he doesn't come to me, he's eagerly waiting for me, purring on the couch. Admittedly, sometimes it's because his bowl is empty and he knows when I'm done cuddling, I'll fill it for him and perhaps give him a kitty treat. But he's always ready to flip himself on his back so I can rub his adorable buddha-belly.
I wish he didn't have so many years on him (I think he's about 12 now), so that I'd have even more years to spend cuddling with him. If we ever get another cat, I really want it to be a black one like Hideous!

Well, Don was about nine years old when he received Chris! (We each got a kitten from a neighbor, who told us that they were "Midget and Gidget" and Don just hated the name Gidget so I suspect that he called the kitten the first name he could think of at the time...
Midget became Midgie, and she was MY baby until she passed away at the age of 13. Sniff. I still miss her, and sometimes I call my cat Colours Midge accidentally. (I also call my dog Cudda "Joy" occasionally because that was my previous dog's name!)

Awww, that's sad that the kitty died. But he had a great family and a good life, to be sure. :-) Funny, the name "Chris" just doesn't sound like something Don would name his pet. It's not weird enough sounding. :-P

Yep, that is Hideous! Neither of our cats are black! Ours are tiger and white and tortoiseshell. Ours are both about thirteen years old, now.
Don used to have another black cat that he got as a kitten way back when. He named it Chris and Mom ended up taking care of Chris for a long time after Don went to college, then I took him to live in Flint with me. He died of extreme old age.

Kittens are so cute!!! Our kitties are 13 years old, now. It's difficult to believe that they once were cute little "balls of fluff" like the kitty in the photo! And they are still cute, just a lot older.
