Unbelievable Luck

Wow, I can't believe how lucky I got. My friend Sue's daughter Danielle is getting married in Hawaii and Don and I are going to go. So I went shopping for a dress. I was going to call Sue and ask her to go to the Twelve Oaks Mall with me, but I thought I should just go to Briarwood just to see what I could find. I didn't expect to find anything good anyway.

I went looking around JC Penney, but there wasn't a dress in my size in sight at all. All the dresses on sale were basically size 8 or 14. I went from rack to rack to rack. Nothing. Finally, I found one dress that looked cute. I checked the size...it was the right size! Yippee! It's a beautiful ivory color with a tan-colored satin ribbon that ties in the back. The exact colors of MY wedding dress! It's got tank straps, rhinestones, and a v-neck and it's knee-length. Very pretty. When I checked the tag, it was on sale for $30!!! I thought, well, even if it didn't work, I'd buy it anyway! But before paying for it, I walked over to the shoe department.

It occurred to me that it would be hard to match the colors to a shoe. But then I saw them in the corner of the store...a pair of rhinestone flip flops with heels. They matched perfectly to the dress! I couldn't believe my luck in finding the outfit all at once. Plus I didn't need jewelry because I have rhinestone jewelry I wore for my wedding.

I'm really excited about going to a wedding in Hawaii on the beach. It's just a shame it's 8 1/2 months away. UGH!

Vacation

Ahh, it's been so nice this week. I've been using the time mostly as vacation, which I really needed. I've been able to sleep in a few days this week--which felt REALLY good! And just relaxing is something I've wanted to do for a while now. Any day it's been sunny, I've been working on my tan, just to get some good color, not to get real dark. And I went to some extra martial arts classes on Friday. Though, I felt pretty worn out by the Tuesday/Thursday 3-hour deal since I have both iaido and jujutsu in the same night. And last Saturday was the first Saturday of the month which means an extra iaido class and an extra jujutsu class on top of my regular karate class. So there's another 3-hour day.

Monday, Don and I skipped martial arts in favor of going to see Spiderman 3 with Danielle and Ryan. We went to Red Robin for dinner, then to the movie which I thought was better than the first 2. After that, we went back to the office to get our cars and Don and Ryan could finish the server swap they were doing. I managed to get in some video game time on the arcade console they're building. It's going to look JUST like a real arcade game, but it'll have like 1000 games in it, including my favorite SAMURAI SHODOWN II!!! Yaaaaayyy!! I love that game!

Next week, I'll have to start buckling down and getting some more resumes out there and making some calls. Hopefully, it won't be too long that I'll be unemployed. But I was able to apply for unemployment, so hopefully, those checks will start rolling in soon.
