Our Summer Vacation

First, apologies to all my readers that I haven't blogged about anything lately. Guess I've been too lazy.

Anyway, we spent a long weekend in Meaford, Ontario for our annual summer vacation. It's always the absolute highlight of my summer. As always, we spent the weekend relaxing, playing on the jet skis, kayaking, eating great food, enjoying the sun and hanging by the fire.

I think that's the best part of going to Meaford...not so much the fire, though I LOVE having fires. But it's sitting around the fire with the Buck family. There's the Bucks, the Mynsbergs, the Gillmans, and us, the Priors. Unfortunately, the Shorkeys couldn't join us this year. And the Nance (Hourigan) wasn't there either.

It seems like every time we had a fire, I had to assume fire-tending duties. I enjoy doing it cause I love watching the wood burn, but mostly, I'm just trying to generate as much light as possible so that we can all see each other in the dark. Some people like to make huge fires, I just like to have light.

Don and Tom went into the woods and collected a bunch of large trunks to burn...there was one that had a perfect space in the center and it looked like a burning volcano. REALLY COOL! I took video of it and put it on Youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSwo-yic1Lw Sorry it's sideways!

And here are the pictures I took over the weekend: http://mongoola.nsgroupllc.com/photos/main.php?g2_itemId=4449

ENJOY! :)
