Icicles

We've got some really cool looking icicles hanging off our house and with the sun shining, they looked even cooler. But as pretty as they are, I'm already sick of winter. We've had so much snow this year and the temperatures have been practically unbearable. Like the other day, I go outside to bring in the trash can and as I tilt it onto its wheels, a bit of snow falls off the top onto my hand. It was so cold that by the time I got to the top of my driveway, it felt like knives stabbing my hand.
So Don and I are taking a well-needed vacation to Hawaii in a couple weeks. He had a lot of points on his credit card from buying equipment for his customers that it'll pay for virtually the entire the trip. It'll be so nice to get into the sun. It'll be around high 70s to low 80s. We have a lot planned, but mostly I just want to go where it's warm. The only problem is that I hate having to leave Maximus at home as well as coming back to face this again:

Pretty...but SCARY!! They look like lethal weapons!
Have you ever done that prank where you wet a roof top down and wait for someone to slam the front door in the morning? The did that in Grumpy Old Men. I've always wondered if it actually works.
