Modeling
So I've always dreamed of doing some modeling. But I never had the guts. I never really wanted to get into it as a career, but it's something I'd love to do for fun. After seeing my friend Sheri's pictures (who's absolutely GORGEOUS and incredibly talented at modeling) and now Kailah (who's Sheri's twin and EVERY bit as talented at modeling) I just couldn't stand it anymore. I decided to finally try my hand at it. Kind of like how I'd always been fascinated with martial arts but didn't have the guts till I finally decided to try karate.
So I joined ModelMayhem.com...a networking site for photographers, models and hair/makeup artists. So far, I've managed to get in touch with one of the photographers that did Kailah (which is one of the ones I really wanted) and I'm gonna do something with Sheri since she's just as talented at photography as she is at modeling--which is freaking amazing!! So we'll see how it goes. Like I said, it's not something I wanna do really seriously, just something for a fun hobby.

Casino Night
Don and I went out last night and had a GREAT time with Dr. Jay. We took a car to the MGM Grand Casino in downtown Detroit. Dr. Jay wanted to take us to Bourbon Steak for dinner and it was so phenomenal, it's absolutely beyond words! It's one of those experiences that you just can't describe; one of those experiences you have NO idea how good it is until you experience it for yourself. We started with chilled king crab legs, spiced prawns, kobe beef tartar and cornbread. Then we moved to bleu cheese heart of lettuce salad. Then steak; Don had the kobe eye of ribeye, Dr. Jay had the kobe cap, and I had the kobe filet mignon. Each was incredibly tender and dripping with flavorful juices. Probably THE best steak ANY of us have ever had. Don says it blows the Chophouse out of the water!
But what was REALLY incredible for me was the dessert. I ordered the creme brulee (my usual) with beignets (a light pastry), Don had the MaCallan 18-year old butterscotch pudding and Dr. Jay had THE ULTIMATE molten chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip ice cream. The last one sounds pretty good, much like what any nice restaurant would serve. But OHHHHHH! When you TASTE IT!!! I've always heard people say that chocolate is next to sex. Well, I've had LOTS of chocolate and never believed it. UNTIL NOW!!! Holy shit, it was a dessert experience like NO OTHER! The molten chocolate was not thick like other places make it and it had a thin, crispy sheet of chocolate on top of the cake. When you put it in your mouth, it virtually evaporates on your tongue and you not only taste the chocolate, you inhale it too. It was so magical!!!
But the night didn't end there. We went over to the Blackjack tables to watch Dr. Jay play. I've always been afraid to sit at the card tables, much as I love card games, because I'm afraid to lose so much. Well, Don plopped down $200 dollars and told me to sit down. Though I know the basics of 21, I didn't know what to do. So I had to look to the boys for help. I kept betting only $25 at a time so that if I lost, I wouldn't lose so big. Well, I kept winning and winning. I even got like 2 tens and decided--against Don & Dr. Jay's advice--to split the pair. Well, I got lucky and won (I think I got a 21 and a 17 or something). I beat the dealer. At one point, I more than doubled what I started out with.
After a while, we decided to go get drinks at the bar, maybe try the Texas Hold Em table. But it turns out we probably shouldn't have left our table cause it stayed hot. Unfortunately, when we came back to it, it was full. We decided against Texas Hold Em and found another Blackjack table. I played a little more and lost about $80 before Don told me to call it quits. Dr. Jay continued playing and didn't do so well. But at least I still ended the night winning about $180 bucks! That'll pay for half the massage chair I ordered this week. :)

Moving Right Along
So things are moving right along with the massage program. I'm required to do 30 friends & family massages, due June 10th and I'm already half done! AND I have another 5 scheduled this weekend. I'm hoping that the sooner I get those done, the sooner I can start working on my clinic internship (115 hours) and outreach program (55 hours) requirements and get them out of the way. It'll make my second semester easier if I can.
Plus, I just ordered a massage chair off eBay this morning. Saved about a hundred dollars not buying it new (it's only slightly used). I'm hoping it'll get here before I go to Georgian Bay since I can massage a few of the Bucks over Memorial Day weekend. I'm debating whether I wanna take my table or my chair since I have to do 3 chair massages to equal one table massage. But I'm not sure which will be easier to transport (the table's light enough, but a little big). Now, I just have to buckle down and do a little more studying to prepare for a few quizzes we have coming up.
